6th Annual Ginoong Pilipinas USA Press Conference

June 30th, 2008 showcased Ginoong Pilipinas USA (Mr. Philippines-USA) pageant when media sponsors were invited to meet and greet the local LA based contestants, producers and sponsors. Highlights of the evening were American Idol finalists David Hernandez (2008), Vanessa Bryan (2003) and Mark Gueco, Ginoong Pilipinas USA 2007 joining the question and answer portion. The candidates were equally appealing, interesting, and brave to have joined the advocacy of the White Ribbon Campaign - empowering men to end violence against women. They will be competing for the best in Barong Tagalog, swimwear, tuxedos, and interviews.
This event calls for the recognition of two influential Cebuanos in the filipino community. Elton Lugay, is the executive producer of Ginoong Pilipinas-USA Productions. He is a Visayan who hails from Balamban, Cebu and finished his degree in MA, ESL from De La Salle University, Manila. He was formerly based in
San Francisco as the Editor and Art Director of Asian Inquirer, Oakland, CA and is currently based in New York. Another Cebuano, Ms. Lorna Lardizabal-Dietz of www.radiantview.com, will be co-hosting this year's event. She was recently chosen as one of the 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the US last October 2007. Kudos to both for sharing your talents to promote and raise funds for this campaign.
