Bisaya Medical Association’s 11th Annual Convention had its welcome night party in Arcadia, CA sponsored by Dr. Felipe and Erlinda Chu at their sprawling residence in Arcadia, CA. This homecoming event, organized by Dr. Lorenz Alaan gathered “Bisaya” doctors from all over US and visiting guests from the Philippines whom were mostly medical alumni of Southwestern University, Cebu City. It was a festive night of Visayan colleagues in the profession, singing and dancing, exchanging pleasantries, business talk, and an array of so much food. The night was a prelude to Saturday’s Luau and main event which was the induction of incoming officers by Guest Speaker Hon. Hilario G. Davide Jr., Philippine Ambassador to United Nations at the Pacific Palms Resort and Convention Center in City of Industry, CA. BMA’s projects include scholarships, medical-surgical missions in Talisay, Dumaguete, Negros Oriental servicing the poorest of the poor. Originally formed in Orlando, FL with a small group of doctors, it expanded to become a national organization composed of Bisaya doctors all over the US.
